Our Team

Margaret Moran is the Paralegal at Student Defense. Previously she worked as a paralegal at Relman Colfax PLLC, where she assisted in litigating civil rights cases for clients with fair housing, disability discrimination, and public accommodations claims.

Margaret graduated from Macalester College summa cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science and Media and Cultural Studies in 2021. During college, Margaret was selected for Macalester’s Chuck Green civic engagement fellowship and worked at Amicus Services, a Minneapolis reentry organization that supports returning citizens, where she did direct client service work and policy research on felony-friendly housing. Margaret also served as a community defense intern supporting criminal defense cases at the Legal Rights Center, a Minneapolis legal nonprofit providing criminal defense, restorative justice, advocacy, and community education. On campus, Margaret served as a reporter, news editor, and eventually editor-in-chief of The Mac Weekly, Macalester’s independent student newspaper. In her free time, Margaret enjoys running, cooking, and reading.
