NSLDN Demands Department of Education Take Action on Victimized Student’s Borrower Defense Claim

Washington, D.C. – Today the National Student Legal Defense Network (NSLDN), on behalf of an individual student borrower, filed a lawsuit demanding that the Department of Education stop more than two years of delays and finally process an application for borrower defense. The plaintiff is a former student at the Court Reporting Institute, a defunct for-profit school that shut down after a Washington State report found the school had engaged in unfair business practices and had made false and misleading statements to students.

The complaint filed in federal district court is available here.
